You've probably got my CV already, so this site does the part a CV can't — it shows the work rather than listing it.
I got into IT by fixing my own laptop as a kid when we couldn't afford a repair. That was the first thing I ever took apart, and it worked when I put it back together. I've been hooked ever since.
Here are some things worth a look. A Windows Server domain I built on Proxmox from spare parts, written up in full including everything that went wrong and what I'd do differently now. A briefing on secure data erasure I researched and wrote so a Coventry reuse organisation could decide whether taking laptops in from the public was viable. A live multiplayer web game I designed, built and run for real players, deployed on Cloudflare. And the volunteer data work I do for that same organisation, which is the one place where other people depend on what I record.
They're deliberately different from each other. The thread running through them is that I teach myself something properly and then write it down.
What I haven't got is time inside a real team — experienced people to learn from and someone checking my work. That's the gap, and it's what I want an apprenticeship for. I'm in Nuneaton and I drive.
